Dear President,

I am sending you a copy of my letter to Prime Minister Donald Tusk of mid-November 2012, to which I have not received a sensible answer.

In Poland today, extermination of descendants of pre-WWII elites and all those who did not want to have anything to do with communism continues. These are most valuable people, who dare to speak in defence of truth, respect for human dignity and fundamental rights. They are being destroyed in an exceptionally cruel way. Earlier, communists eliminated Polish elites by shooting them in the back of the head. Today, for various reasons, liquidation of individuals cannot be carried out in the same fashion and another, carefully conceived and planned process is used. It may be carried out for years and may lead to suicidal death of the victim.

The mechanism of liquidating a human as a social being, liquidating his or her psyche, deserves to be described in more detail of course. Suffice it to say for now, that this is a new kind of an exceptionally cruel crime, in which the body is not being killed, but the human soul is murdered, along with dreams, joy of life, joy of belonging to a community and working for its benefit.

Many people in Poland are subjected to similar liquidation process. Most often they are not aware of it. They do not understand, why they cannot advance, make a career, carry out an investment, develop a prosperous company and add jobs, while following the law and principles of good social behavior.

Contemporary Poland is a totalitarian state. This is totalitarianism which has not been addressed in the handbooks of political science.  Tyranny of a new kind. In the middle of Europe, in the presence of democratic decorations, murders of the most ambitious and creative individuals are being carried out. They are not only targeted using methods described e.g. in the documents of Stasi, the East German communist security service, under the code name of “die Zersetzung”, but also their ideas and all kinds of intellectual achievements are being stolen. The traces of their existence are obliterated.

Killing fields continue to exist on the territory of Poland. Today, these are fields of social death, a new form of terror.

Yours sincerely,

Małgorzata Głuchowska
